Position Summary:
The Management GP will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of GP Pathfinder Clinics. This individual will be responsible for providing clinical leadership, delivering high-quality care to patients, managing the practice team, and contributing to the overall success of our clinics. Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Leadership:
- Provide clinical leadership and guidance to the practice team, ensuring adherence to best practices and protocols.
- Act as a clinical role model, demonstrating exceptional clinical care and patient management skills.
- Participate in clinical governance activities, including audits, incident reporting, and risk assessments.
- Patient Care
- Deliver efficient and safe patient care via several means: face to face, video, telephone etc.
- Patient Home visits and Nursing Home visits
- Checking and signing repeat prescriptions
- Administration - dealing with queries, patient test results, referral letters NHS/private, task, emails and other paperwork and correspondence in a timely manner
- Practice Management:
- Assist with the day-to-day clinical operations of the practice, including patient appointments, staffing, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Auditing and Compliance:
- Shape the practice's auditing and compliance activities, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular audits of clinical records, processes, and systems.
- Implement corrective actions to address any identified deficiencies.
- Quality Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for improvement in clinical practice and implement strategies to enhance quality.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits to ensure continuous improvement.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of clinical services and processes.
- Staff Development:
- Recruit, train, and develop the practice team to meet the clinic's needs.
- Provide mentorship and support to junior staff members, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
Qualifications and Experience - Must Haves:
- Registered GP with a valid GMC license (or about to CCT up to 2025).
- Experience in primary care practice management, preferably in a similar setting.
- Strong clinical knowledge and expertise in primary care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in quality improvement.
- Experience in Triage
- Knowledge of Quality and Outcomes Framework
- Knowledge of public health issues in the local area
- Awareness of issues within the wider health arena
- Proficiency in using electronic health records and other relevant software.
- Knowledge of relevant clinical guidelines and standards.
Working Pattern:
- 6 sessions per week of patient consultations.
- 2 sessions per week dedicated to auditing, compliance, and management work.
- We are ideally looking for candidates to work four days a week with us.
